I know I’m still young in the grand scheme of things, but I know I tend to think of everyone online as being around my age. Then someone you’ve seen posting before, or have commented with before posts something that gives their age away and I just sit there thinking, “Holy shit...they are over a decade younger than me.”
Tractor for your time. (I’m on an Allis Chalmers kick right now, my grandpa worked for them his entire life and I just bought a ‘60s AC garden tractor)

you started getting old as soon as you had to ask yourself “when did i start getting old?”

I’m 20. If that helps or hurts, I cannot say.

Pic of your garden tractor?
The weirdest thing for me is realizing I graduated high school 10 years ago, and college 5 years ago, as I see friends of friends as well as siblings of friends going through said graduations.

I remember we did an Oppo survey a long time ago and most of us were 20-25 i think. So ya, theres that.

I looked in the mirror today and realized I was a fanny pack, golf hat, and tall black socks away from being dressed like a retiree on vacation.

This Allis Chalmers kick is fine with me, I can always go for more orange tractors.
(The high school graduations throw me off but, then again, I just got my masters degree. I’m 22)

My first sense of getting old was in college, once the average age of women in Maxim/etc were suddenly younger than me, even though I felt like I was just a kid myself. After my mid-20s, it didn’t really matter anymore for a while...and then I hit my 30s and it was seeing people 5-10 years younger than me who had better careers, opportunities, etc. The bottom line is that, as much as possible, you just can’t compare yourself to others. Try to stay young and healthy and your actual age won't matter much.

turned 30 2 weeks ago.... feel and think much older. I do not fit in with the millennial cliche. I bust ass for a living and earn the very few pennies I get.
my wife on the other hand is 19 and a lot more active lol

I dig the old steel. I’ve got a MM Jet-star 3 sitting in my yard for pushing snow and other chores.
I've got 40 years under the belt now, and don't really feel any older than I did in the 20s, just not as dumb. I do my best to keep current so I don't spend my time yelling at the kids on my lawn.

Age Aint Nothing But a Number
Am I ‘old’ if I’m making references to a dead artist that anyone under 30 doesn’t know?
Anyway, I've been thinking of myself as old since I turned 30.

I’m 31 and I feel your pain. All the young whipper snappers with their new fangled technologies.
You know you are old if you still do this (I do).
If your idea of staying up late is going to a party and not getting home until midnight then you are also old. (I also do this)

It’s an interesting thing. Online, I tend to be a decade or two older than most folks. When I attend various car meets, I tend to be younger by about a decade or two.

Haha yep. Swap car meet for bike meet and that’s how I feel at 41.

Yea, I’m trying to compare myself, just an observation that I’m getting “older”. Haha

I don’t even have a CD player in my truck, I almost exclusively listen to radio, I think I’m the only one of my friends though who does that.

Yea, I stumbled across an older thread on Oppo with people posting them in their Halloween costumes and more than half of them looked like kids in HS.

Haha...my wife tries to keep me dressed nice. I prefer comfy clothes, but she deems them ugly.

Oh boy. It’s cool though, things like Oppo bring people together who would almost never hang out or meet otherwise.

Yea, for me it’s that my “baby” cousin (the youngest of all the cousins) is going to college this year.

I’m at work but wearing a golf shirt, khaki shorts, and New Balance 993s. And gray hair

Damn, that’s really young to have a masters! Skip a grade or something?

Teaching middle school keeps me very in-touch with how old I am. They were all born after 9-11.

Kids born after 9-11 will be driving soon, that’s scary.

Nah, I could have, but I’m just the youngest in my class.
![]() 06/10/2016 at 17:49 |

I have no doubt. I was almost 24 when I got mine, and was also the youngest in my class.
